Sunday 28th May Pentecost
Welcome to our weekly newsletter
Alleluia, Christ is risen….
……
He is risen indeed, Alleluia!
We are called to ask for God’s help and join in with his loving purposes for the world.
This Sunday we celebrate that we are not alone, and we rejoice in and ask for the Holy Spirit.
The Collect,
the prayer for the week
Holy Spirit, sent by the Father,
ignite in us your holy fire;
strengthen your children with the gift of faith,
revive your Church with the breath of love,

St Mary's Care Bus outing
The Care Bus outing to Hillier Aldermaston was greatly enjoyed by the participants and the bus was full.
There was a period of heavy rain just after our arrival, but many of the sales areas and, of course, the cafe, are under cover, so that did not prove to be an obstacle, and umbrellas were readily provided for the hardier souls who were interested in the vast outdoor selection of plants and trees. We returned to St. Mary's just after 16:45, having safely delivered both passengers and purchases. The next outing will be in September.

Photographer needed
We have a display board about the 'Living Churchyard' in the north porch at St Thomas'. We would like to renew the display and wondered if there is a photographer who could help us. We would like someone to take, say, one photo a month of the churchyard so we can create a display that shows how the churchyard changes through the seasons. If you are interested in helping, please email Jill at the Benefice office.
Guitar recital at St Mary’s
Mark Jennings, a very talented classical guitarist, will be coming to give an afternoon recital in St Mary’s on
Sunday June 11th
at 4pm. He will be playing classical guitar music including works by Bach, Albeniz, Tarrega, Villa Loboz, Barrios and Rodrigo.
Tea and cakes will be supplied afterwards by our wonderful volunteers. Tickets £10 full, £9 concessions, sold on the door only, cash only please.
Enquiries by email via the
Benefice Office.
Organ Recital by Bryan Almond at St Thomas’
And another musical date for your diary.
On
Sunday 18th June
at 3pm Bryan Almond, Assistant Organist and Choirmaster at St Mary’s, Primrose Hill, will be playing music by Bach, Sweelinck, Vierne, Duruflé, Alain, Hollins, Delius and Elgar on the newly refurbished organ. There will be no charge for admission but there will be a retiring collection supporting the Great Big Green Week.
Daily Prayer
will be taking place as usual. Why not join in one day? We listen to the Bible and pray for our world and church.
Monday: 8.30am Goring,
Tuesday and Thursday: 8.30am Streatley.
Friday: 9am Goring.
We are asked to pray
For our schools - a refreshing half term and final 6 weeks for those leaving and moving on. Those preparing for and sitting exams.
For our politicians as they and we face many challenges.
