Facing all of our and the world’s deepest darkness, God in his giving love has brought life, love and the offer of forgiveness and new eternal life to us all.

Alleluia.

Coronation logo
Have yourself a beautiful gift of prayer reflections for our nation, for yourself and for our king. 28 days of thoughts and prayers from Easter day till Coronation Day, beautifully prepared, covering a healthy diet of topics relevant to each of us.
We bought 150 copies. Please take one (or two) from church. Make sure they find good homes and are used and enjoyed. Thank you.
If instead you want them to come to your computer or phone please follow this link for a daily reflection e-mail https://www.churchofengland.org/coronation/reflections
Easter Flowers and crosses
Thank you to everyone who has prepared and given these. Do call into all of our churches and meditate on God’s goodness and faithfulness this week. Also note the Crosses of Europe with their explanatory notes and Bible references prepared by the children for Goring and Streatley churches from our primary schools.
TheGreatBigGreenWeek
Great Big Green Day, Saturday 17 June
This needs volunteers to prepare in advance all that is needed, as well as volunteers on the day.
Our next meeting is 4pm on 18th April when we decide if we can go ahead. Please tell Ben if you can help. Thank you.
This week’s “Care for Creation” tip is that instead of using cling film to wrap small portions of food, try using freezer bags. These can be washed and used time and again.
TheLostKing
Pick-a-Flick, Thursday 20th April, 10:30am
The April Pick-a-Flick will be screening the film “The Lost King”. As usual, there will be coffee before the film and a light lunch afterwards and we ask for a contribution of £5 towards this. Pre-booking is required so please contact Jenny or Sarah to book in and to ask for transport if you require it.

Goring Chamber Choir Concert – Christ is Risen
On Saturday 22nd April at 3pm the Goring Chamber Choir will be singing a concert programme of Easter music by Italian and English composers. Groups of pieces by contemporary composers include Sascha Johnson Manning's 'The peacemakers' in response to the war in the world, and a setting of the spiritual Were you there? by Malcolm Archer. Randall Thompson's triumphant Alleluia is a total contrast to Monteverdi's touching duet Venite for two sopranos. Music by Palestrina, Byrd, Elgar, William Harris and Richard Shephard shares the joy of the season with the quiet repose of Casciolini's Mass in A minor.
Tickets are £12 (free for under 18’s) and obtainable from Inspiration, Goring, or from a choir member, or on the door.

Daily Prayer will not be taking place next week but resumes as usual on Monday 17th April.
Why not join in one day? We listen to the Bible and pray for our world and church.
Monday: 8.30am Goring,
Tuesday and Thursday: 8.30am Streatley.
Please note there will also not be a service on Friday 21st April.

We are asked to pray

  • For any in dark places to find that the light of God’s love is for them.
  • For togetherness in our nation and the world and a willingness to face difficulties together, all sharing in the cost and gift of hope.
  • For God’s hope to be lived and shared through us.
