We all share one heavenly parent. So Our Father’s Day is a strand we can all embrace.

The prayer for the week

O God,
the strength of all those who put their trust in you,
mercifully accept our prayers
and, because through the weakness of our mortal nature
we can do no good thing without you,
grant us the help of your grace,
that in the keeping of your commandments
we may please you both in will and deed;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

The Gap Festival feedback

FormerPMandBishopThank you so much to Ron (who also took this photo) and Ginny for bringing together an amazing programme and team to bless all the community. From the Street Party through to events for nearly every taste.

We were privileged to have our special guest and to have the blessing of Bishop Steven for our morning service as well. He gently encouraged us of the good things that are at work by God in the world, and called us to grow in relationship, beginning with any of the persons of the Trinity, as our starter.

Daily acts of worship often took a slot as part of Festival Calm. Thank you to Sarah for organising all of those.

You are welcome to join our regular Morning Prayer either in person (or by phone or Zoom by arrangement) Monday and Friday in St Thomas’, Tuesday and Thursday in St Mary’s at 8.30am.

Volunteer letter writer needed for grant applications

We need to replace the projector in the Canterbury Room with a new digital screen which will hugely improve things for Pick a Flick and other users of this great facility. Grant bodies are much more willing to give to this sort of thing than anything religious! So we need a volunteer to chase a few grants for this and other upgrades for the Canterbury room (such as better blinds).

Can you help? Please contact Ben
